I was born in Myanmar to Indian parents and moved to the United States in 1979. Adjusting to a new country was challenging, and for much of my youth, I felt it wasn't safe to express my thoughts and emotions. This began to change in college when I became a Resident Assistant, offering support and a listening ear to fellow students. This pivotal experience ignited my passion for helping others and sparked my journey of self-discovery.
Driven by a profound desire to understand the roots of my suffering, I pursued a major in Psychology and earned a Master's Degree in Counseling from the University of Colorado in Colorado Springs. In 1999, I became a Licensed Professional Counselor. My path eventually led me to Boulder, Colorado, where I encountered a Buddhist teacher who introduced me to the transformative practice of self-reflection. This profound experience revealed how our habits and beliefs shape our lives and often steer us away from the happiness we seek.
For over two decades, I have had the privilege of working with individuals experiencing a wide range of extreme states of mind. Utilizing a contemplative model, I have found that trauma often lies at the root of their suffering. My passion is to create a safe, therapeutic environment where clients can explore their wounds and begin their healing journey.
Therapy offers a unique opportunity to delve deeply into understanding the mind, fostering a more balanced and fulfilling life. I am dedicated to helping my clients achieve a sense of poise and self-compassion, empowering them to care for themselves and others with greater empathy and understanding.
