What is a Good Faith Estimate?

You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your health care will cost.

Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have certain types of health care coverage or who are not using certain types of health care coverage an estimate of their bill for health care items and services before those items or services are provided.

• You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any health care items or services upon request or when scheduling such items or services. This includes related costs like medical tests, prescription drugs, equipment, and hospital fees.
• If you schedule a health care item or service at least 3 business days in advance, make sure your health care provider or facility gives you a Good Faith Estimate in writing within 1 business day after scheduling. If you schedule a health care item or service at least 10 business days in advance, make sure your health care provider or facility gives you a Good Faith Estimate in writing within 3 business days after scheduling. You can also ask any health care provider or facility for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule an item or service. If you do, make sure the health care provider or facility gives you a Good Faith Estimate in writing within 3 business days after you ask.
• If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more for any provider or facility than your Good Faith Estimate from that provider or facility, you can dispute the bill.
• Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate and the bill.

I work with young adults from around 20 to folks in their 70s. Therapy is for everyone at every stage of life.
Do you work with people from different ethnic backgrounds?
I’ve enjoyed working with individuals from various backgrounds, including Asian and Hispanic communities. I think having a shared understanding of cultural experiences helps foster a more profound connection – sometimes even without needing a lot of words.
What is your approach to therapy?
I believe we all have basic goodness and wisdom within us, and therapy is about connecting with that. I’m here to guide you through your process of self-discovery and healing, helping you get to know yourself better. We’ll work on things that might hold you back but also focus on what’s already strong and thriving within you.

Do you give homework between sessions?
I don’t like to call it “homework,” but many clients appreciate having things to consider between sessions. Based on what comes up in the session, I offer some open questions or ideas for reflection to help deepen your experience. But if it feels like a chore, I insist you drop it. The goal is to support your process, not add pressure.
Can I wear pajamas to therapy?
Definitely! The beauty of virtual therapy is that you can be comfy. If pajamas help you relax, then go ahead and wear them!
Do I need to bring anything to our sessions?
Just bring yourself! Maybe a cup of tea or coffee to make it extra cozy. You’ve already done the hard part by reaching out and showing up.
What if I don’t know what to say in a session?
That’s completely okay! Sometimes, silence can be just as important. I’ll help guide the conversation and meet you where you are.
What if I cry? Is that okay?
Absolutely. Tears are part of the process; this is your space to feel whatever comes up. Laughter, tears, silence, everything is welcome here.
Will I get to know you?

While our focus is on your journey, you’ll also experience me as a person. I believe in showing up authentically in the therapeutic relationship, and it’s an honor to witness and support your vulnerability and strength.
