About

1403998016You are safe.

In this space, you are safe to be your true self, no matter what that looks like.

Our nervous systems are often on high alert, buzzing away in the background, even when we’re not aware of it. Feeling genuinely safe is a crucial ingredient for relaxation and healing. Together, we’ll create an environment that sends clear signals to your brain: “It’s okay to relax. It’s okay to let go.”

You don’t need to show up perfectly composed, and you certainly don’t need to have everything figured out. We’ll work together to tame that overactive mind – not by forcing it into submission, but by understanding its patterns and learning to work with them.

You’ll find that navigating your inner world becomes less like fighting a battle and more like embarking on an adventure of self-discovery.

How do you get there?

This is where our therapeutic relationship comes into play.

Therapy isn’t just about talking; it’s about creating a space where your mind and body can synchronize – a space that says, “It’s okay to feel, to relax, to heal.”

Together, we’ll foster a connection that lets you know deep down that it’s safe to slow down and breathe – because sometimes that’s the first step toward feeling better.

304969715Learn to be present.

You know that feeling when your mind is racing in all directions at once – caught up in worries about the future or replaying the past? It’s exhausting. Instead of trying to push those thoughts away, we’ll focus on creating a bit of space around them. Not to make them disappear (because that doesn’t work and is not our goal) but to be with them in a way that feels less overwhelming.

Being present means learning to sit with the messy parts, to be okay with the uncertainties, and to breathe through the moments when things feel tough. The present is where life happens, and I’m here to help you ground yourself in it. Together, we’ll figure out how to stop rushing through life’s challenges and find clarity and peace – even when things get shaky. You’ll discover you can handle life’s ups and downs more quickly (and maybe even a smile).

Mindfulness is more than a buzzword.

Yes, mindfulness has become the “avocado toast” of therapy: trendy, overused, and tossed around like it’s the magic solution to everything. But here’s the thing – when treated with the respect it deserves, mindfulness is an ancient practice with deep roots that has served so many beyond being just a tool to help with relaxation – although it certainly supports that.

Mindfulness isn’t about trying to escape the reality of your life. It’s about staying grounded in chaos, finding balance amid the mess, and showing up fully in the moment. When we treat mindfulness as more than just a buzzword, we uncover that it’s a gift, allowing us to live a more fully human and authentic life.

Together, we won’t just dabble in mindfulness like it’s some fleeting trend. We’ll explore it with intention, helping you slow down, reconnect with yourself, and find peace here and now. This isn’t about forcing calm; it’s about learning to live more mindfully so that you can handle whatever life throws your way with more grace and groundedness.

FlowerHere’s what it’s like to work with me.

Imagine walking into a space where you can finally take that deep breath you didn’t even realize you were holding. When we work together, that’s precisely what you can expect. This is your space to be yourself – no filters, no fronts, no need to “have it all together.”

I’m not here to fix you because you don’t need to be fixed. Instead, we’ll work together to explore what’s been weighing on you, help you see things from new perspectives, and give you the tools to manage life’s challenges in an empowering way. Yes, we’ll dig into the tough stuff, but we’ll also laugh and find moments of lightness. Most importantly, we’ll work toward a place where you feel at home within yourself – navigating life with ease and self-compassion.

About Polly Banerjee, LPC

About PollyMy Story…

I wasn’t born here, but this is where I’ve landed – where I’ve built a life dedicated to understanding my mind and supporting others in doing the same.

My journey began in Myanmar, where I was born to Indian parents. When my family moved to the United States, we each struggled to adjust to a new culture.

I quietly endured the pain of being bullied at school for the color of my skin. Back then, I didn’t realize how much relief could come from sharing my struggles with someone I trusted.

I have had a lifelong search for meaning.

That search for meaning led me to psychology, where I earned my master’s degree in counseling from the University of Colorado. In 1999, I became a Licensed Professional Counselor; it’s been quite an adventure since then.

The pivotal moment came when I moved to Boulder, Colorado, and met a Buddhist teacher who introduced me to the practice of self-reflection. This set me on the path to explore the roots of my suffering so that I could better help others.

Through this practice, I realized how much our habits and beliefs can steer us away from the peace we’re all looking for as we unconsciously act in ways that go against our good intentions.

Experience goes over two decades.

For over two decades, I’ve had the privilege of walking alongside people through some of their most challenging times – when life feels like it’s falling apart. And if there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s that trauma often lies at the heart of their struggles.

Using a mindfulness-based, contemplative approach, I’ve witnessed profound healing unfold by creating a safe and supportive space to explore those wounds. It’s in this compassionate environment – where it’s okay to simply be – that true healing begins.

Therapy is a journey inward.

To me, therapy is an inward journey – a powerful way to understand your mind, cultivate balance, and build compassion for yourself and others. It’s about peeling back the layers, having a more in-depth knowledge of yourself, and learning how to live with greater empathy for yourself and those around you.

If you’re ready for that kind of journey, I’m here for it. Together, we’ll create a space where you can breathe, reflect, and start putting the pieces together.

No jargon, no judgment – just honest conversations and genuine support.
